Andrew Goodman has been a civil and commercial mediator and mediation trainer for over 25 years and now works in 14 different jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Turkey, Nepal, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Singapore and China, offering training, consultancy and co-mediation. He advises governments, judiciaries, foreign Bars and state agencies. Andrew has written and contributed to 12 books on mediation, and is widely regarded as a thought leader in the field. He is the founder and Director of the SCMA, and Director of the Association of Mediation Assessors, Trainers and Instructors; on the Bar’s ADR Panel, the editorial board of the Jackson ADR Handbook and the Journal of Mediation Theory and Practice. Over the last 15 years Andrew has been a visiting lecturer at 12 UK universities, and holds a chair in conflict management at an American university; he was formerly Director of Mediation Training to the RICS. He is a member of the International Mediation Institute’s Independent Standards Commission and co-Vice Chair of the Mediation Advocacy Appraisal Sub-Committee.
Stephen Walker is a civil and commercial mediator and has conducted over 400 civil and commercial mediations. He has also undertaken specialised training in family and workplace mediation, advanced training with MATA and training to become dual certified in the USA through INADR.
Stephen is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as well as a visiting lecturer in mediation at King’s College London
With 5 published books on mediation he is widely regarded as a leading author in the field, Stephen has helped create Goodman Walker to disseminate his years of experience and practice as a commercial solicitor and mediator to maximum effect, and now to offer guidance on the practical issues in the business of mediation in an incisive and thoughtful way.
